Led by founder Tahmina Salik, a longstanding advocate for women’s rights, our organization is supported by a skilled team of program coordinators, outreach specialists, and volunteer managers. Tahmina Salik

Director

Tahmina Salik, born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and raised in Denmark, is a passionate advocate for women’s rights and empowerment. As the
founder and executive director of Empowerment for Her, she envisions a world where all women—regardless of nationality or background—can rise, thrive,
and succeed.
Education and Expertise: Tahmina holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Southern Denmark. Her academic journey has
fueled her commitment to gender equality and social justice.
Championing Women Globally: Tahmina’s work extends beyond Afghan borders. She actively engages with activists, policymakers, and NGOs worldwide,
amplifying the voices of women.

Zohreh Faizi

Zohreh Yasna Faizi

Zohreh Yasna Faizi has been an integral part of Empowerment for Her since its inception. Her unwavering commitment to women’s rights and empowerment transcends borders, making a profound impact.
Advocacy and Bridge Building: As a board member, Zohreh bridges the gap between Afghan women inside Afghanistan and the diaspora community. Her tireless efforts ensure that Afghan women’s voices are heard globally. Zohreh actively engages in discussions, advocating for fair treatment and protection of Afghan asylum seekers and refugees.
Legal Expertise: Zohreh is also an accomplished advocate at Iustusadvokater, practicing law in Danish, English, Persian, and Dari. Her legal expertise extends to criminal law, immigration law, and family law. Zohreh’s dedication to justice and human rights drives her work.

Helene Guldborg

Helene Guldborg is a dedicated feminist and advocate for women and girls’ rights and empowerment. With 18 years of experience working in development and humanitarian contexts across Malawi, Mozambique, Sudan, and the Arab States, as well as at a global level with UNFPA, UN Women, and various NGOs, Helene has a deep understanding of the challenges women and girls face worldwide. Her work focuses on amplifying their voices and unlocking their unique potential in the pursuit of a more just, compassionate, and equal world. Advocacy and Empowerment: As a global advocate, Helene is committed to ensuring that women and girls, particularly those in marginalized communities, have a seat at the table in decision-making processes. She works tirelessly to create opportunities for their empowerment, both in her professional and personal life coaching practice. Academic and Professional Background: Helene holds an academic background in behavioral change and intercultural communications from universities in the United States and Sweden, which complements her work in the field. A global soul from Denmark, she draws inspiration from the world’s rich diversity to inform her advocacy and coaching, driving her continued efforts toward gender equality.

Content Creator and Social Media Manager Olivia is a 27-year-old living in Copenhagen. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Peace & Conflict Studies from Lund University and is passionate about international relations, conflict resolution, and women’s rights. Currently, she works as a Content Creator and Social Media Manager at Empowerment for Her, where she focuses on women’s rights and addresses the challenges faced by women in conflict zones like Afghanistan. She looks forward to beginning her journey of empowering women with Empowerment for Her.
